Razer has unveiled the new Razer Huntsman V2, which it claims is the world’s fastest keyboard. The Huntsman V2 is said to offer near-zero input latency, best-in-class acoustics, and unparalleled key feel thanks to new features like Razer’s 2nd generation Optical Switches, Razer 8k HyperPolling Technology, and Doubleshot PBT keycaps, which are available in both full-sized and tenkeyless layouts.

The Razer Huntsman V2 and Huntsman V2 TKL will be available on Razer.com and authorized dealers on 16 September 2021. The Huntsman V2 Clicky Purple Switch and Linear Red Switch variants are $189.99 and $199.99, respectively, while the Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless Clicky Purple Switch and Linear Red Switch versions are $149.99 and $159.99, respectively.

Release of Information

IRVINE (California) — RazerTM, the world’s premier gaming lifestyle brand (Hong Kong Stock Code: 1337), today unveiled the Razer Huntsman V2 range, which includes a number of improvements and additions to produce the world’s fastest and most sophisticated optical gaming keyboards. Razer’s 2nd generation Optical Switches, Razer 8k HyperPolling Technology, and Doubleshot PBT keycaps, as well as enhanced acoustics, are among the new features, which were developed in response to player and community input.

The Huntsman line of keyboards has risen in popularity since its debut in 2018, becoming the best-selling gaming keyboard in the United States1 and establishing new benchmarks for innovative, high-speed, game-grade keyboards. With a variety of improvements and adjustments centered on the foundations of a great gaming keyboard: performance, feel, and acoustics, the new Huntsman V2 line is poised to maintain that tradition.

“With the original Huntsman, we broke new ground by introducing Optical Switches to mainstream gaming for the first time,” stated Chris Mitchell, Razer’s Peripherals Business Unit’s Head of Sales & Marketing. “The new Huntsman V2 series now gives gamers a high-performance, gaming-focused keyboard that feels even smoother, reacts even faster, and sounds even quieter than before,” says the company.

Optical Switches of the Second Generation

Razer 2nd Generation Linear Optical Switches are included in the Huntsman V2, which have been improved and adjusted in response to player and user input. The inclusion of a silicon sound dampener, which reduces the ‘clack’ of the key bottoming out during usage and significantly enhances the typing experience, is the most significant of these improvements. The switches are also lubricated more generously on the switches and stabilizers, resulting in even smoother operation and less noise.

The Razer 2nd Generation Linear Optical Switches activate the switch signal using an infrared beam of light, eliminating debounce delay, which is typically incorporated into mechanical switch keyboards to guarantee a contact signal is a genuine keypress. Razer 2nd Generation Linear Optical Switches can take use of Razer HyperPolling Technology with minimal debounce delay, outperforming conventional keyboard polling rates of 1000Hz and ramping up to a blazing real polling rate of 8000Hz. When these two high-speed, high-performance technologies are combined, the Huntsman V2 has near-zero latency, making it the world’s quickest and most responsive gaming keyboard.

Upgrades, Upgrades, Upgrades, Upgrades, Upgrades, Upgrades, Upgrades, Upgrades

The Huntsman V2 has also been improved in other areas in response to input from the community and esports athletes. The Huntsman V2 comes equipped with doubleshot PBT keycaps for added durability and wear resistance. The keycaps’ two-stage molding process produces fade-resistant legends with a textured surface for a solid fingertip grip and positive typing action, even after hundreds of hours of usage.

A number of sound dampening elements have been added to the chassis to absorb pings and thunks when the keys bottom out during usage, improving keyboard acoustics. Even under the most vigorous key hammering, a strong matte aluminum top plate keeps the keyboard stiff with little flex, and a sculpted, ergonomic wrist rest fits precisely to the front of the Huntsman V2 for additional support and pressure relief during extended sessions.

For use outside of gaming, the Huntsman V2 comes with a Multi-function Digital Dial and four dedicated, configurable media keys. The Huntsman V2 is fully programmable with Razer Synapse 3 and has 7 preset Razer Chroma lighting effects with a color choices of up to 16.8 million colors for total customization. Even if you don’t have access to online storage, you can store settings, macros, and color schemes to the hybrid on-board memory for access anywhere, anytime.

Tenkeyless The Huntsman V2

The Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless keyboard, the smaller, lighter sibling of the Huntsman V2, was also unveiled today. The Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless retains many of the new features and upgrades seen in the full-sized Huntsman V2, including the new Razer Linear Optical Switches Gen-2, Razer HyperPolling Technology for true 8000Hz polling, Doubleshot PBT keycaps, sound dampening measures, and ergonomic writs. The Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless also comes with a detachable USB-C connection and is fully compatible with Razer Synapse 3 for up to 16.8 million color customization and on-board hybrid memory for macro and settings storing.
